An original reduction linocut by Rosie Fairfax-Cholmeley from an edition of 12 hand-printed on the Wytham Studio's Albion Press.
Rosie says: "Red Woods is from a sketch made in autumn Wytham Woods when the desiccated stems of the bluebells litter the earth below the beech trees. The ditches in this scene are the remains of the old WW1 training trench, dug in the Woods in the 1910's and now a firm part of the landscape. Wytham Woods was bequeathed to Oxford University in the 1950's. As artists-in-residence at the University for Wytham Woods, our studio sits in the middle of Wytham Woods."
