Collection: Jon Mackay

First studying printing at Worcester College, he has spent over 20 years mastering hand-pulled, multi-coloured screenprint whilst also inspiring generations of children through his busy teaching roles. Drawing on the landscapes for his inspiration, his prints can vary from three or four colours all the way to 20. Assiduously printing each layer by hand in his studio, Jon is able to conjure subtle new perspectives on our natural environment.

 

Jon’s fine art screenprints have inspired some of the world’s leading bands to commission him to produce their album covers. From Gary Barlow to The Vaccines, he has collaborated with individual artists and bands as well as festivals such as Latitude, Wilderness and Download. Producing limited edition posters, the work can be found all over the world from the London Underground, New York to Singapore.

 

Driven by his love of music and the festival scene, the relationship between Jon and his music collaborations goes deeper. Individual lyrics and poetry often inspire the work and become immortalised by his titles. Fully immersing himself in the music, Jon is often found in festivals running screen-printing workshops or selling his limited editions.
