Not far from the hustle and bustle of central Oxford is Aston's Eyot, a nature reserve bounded by the Rivers Thames and Cherwell and the Shire Lake Ditch stream. Much beloved by East Oxford residents, the island was originally a water meadow and is home to secretive animals such as deer, badgers, foxes, newts, grass snakes and slow worms, and an incredible variety of bird and plant life.
The Eyot is a truly magical place, and its variety of habitats mean you never know just what wildlife you might bump into on your visit!
