Collection: Emma Coleman-Jones

Emma is an Oxford-based artist and biologist with a life-long love of natural history and wild places. Her field sketches are light, instinctive responses to the natural world, completed in situ in charcoal, chalk and pencil.

Rarely leaving home without a sketchbook, she works outside throughout the year, exploring the form, character and groupings of trees and capturing the changing light, weather and mood through the seasons. In her studio she explores the beauty and complexity of feathers, lichens and other found objects with the same light, expressive touch.
